Forest Education Initiative North East Cluster

This group existed for many years before lying moribund for a few years. It was revived as part of NESPSS and is developing a a particular focus on Forest School.

It is is a constituted group with Forest Education Initiative nationally with representation from a range of organisations involved in woodland education.

Contact the Chair of the group for more information. The group is currently involved in a partnership bid to drive forward Forest Schools in the region in conjunction with the Tees Valley Cluster. This application has proceeded through stage 1 and the stage 2 application is being prepared at present, with coordination from the Outdoor and Sustainability Education Service (OASES) through Groundwork North East.

The next FEI Meeting meeting will be on Thursday 14th January 2010 (2-4pm) at Durham Wildlife Trust, Rainton Meadows

Becoming Involved

If you are delivering Forest School type work or are interested in it, please contact us to ensure coherence across the region.

Training and the lack of capacity of qualified people in the region has been highlighted as a weakness, this is something the group is trying to address.
