Local Authority Sustainable Schools Corporate Approaches The North East and Yorkshire and Humber regions are working togther to support at least six 'pathfinder' authorities to develop corporate approaches to supporting schools to become Sustainable Schools with funding from the Department for Children, Schools and Families The Expressions of interest in the north east region were submitted by 10th October. The outline of the project provides further information. The successful authorities are: Durham Newcastle Redcar and Cleveland Interim evaluation events for the participating six authorities were organised in March in York and at Leeds in November which highlighted progress to date. The attached paper highlights some of the activity that the three authorities are engaged with to date. Newcastle Conference 22-3-10 A showcase conference was held at Government Office for the North East highlighting the activity of the six particpating pathfinder local authorities. Diana Johnson MP, Minister for Schools recorded a video presentation. The event also had an input from Janice Lawson, Head of the Sustainable Development Unit at DCSF.
